Earlier, southbound Jefferson near Paseo del Norte was closed while police investigated. APD says when officers arrived on the scene, they were told the motorcycle was traveling northbound on Jefferson when it struck a Toyota Tacoma truck. APD says officers were told the Toyota was exiting westbound Paseo to go southbound on Jefferson.
APD then says witnesses told them the Toyota was turning southbound onto Jefferson and had a green light and those who stopped for the red light for northbound traffic, said the motorcycle passed them and failed to stop for the red light at Paseo.
APD says witnesses said the motorcycle did not appear to be speeding when it struck the Toyota and alcohol does not appear to be a contributing factor. The investigation is still ongoing. No other information was provided at this time.
