Suspected drowning in Animas River under investigation

FARMINGTON, N.M. (KRQE) Farmington police are investigating a suspected drowning in the Animas River.

Police say a family first spotted 51-year-old David Lee in the river near Boyd Park on Tuesday. First responders were able to pull him from the river more than eight miles away near Kirtland.

Lee was transported to San Juan Regional Medical Center where he died. The circumstances around the incident are unknown.
