ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Dozens of senior athletes battled it out on the badminton court Wednesday.
KRQE News 13 caught up with a man and woman from Nebraska who play together. While they didn’t have the most experience, the duo left it all out on the court.
“The people we meet here have like a hundred in their club, so they play five days a week, have a great competition. So we’re the underdogs, but we still like to come out and compete,” Carolyn Foster and Dave Waggner said.
Thursday is the finals for the badminton competition.
Athletes are also competing in archery. As for the medal count, right now California is in the lead with 164 medals. New Mexico is in second with 160 medals.
