GALLUP, N.M. (KRQE) – The city of Gallup is getting $1 million to clean up some of its public housing.

The money from the Department of Urban Development is designed to find properties with lead-based paint, then get rid of it.

The money will help not only apartment complexes, but playgrounds and childcare centers within public housing projects.
