Valley beats Highland; Albuquerque High moves to 1st place in district play

District play for high school basketball is heating up in the state of New Mexico. In Class 6A, Albuquerque High defeated Rio Grande 69-57 behind a 28 point performance from Jude Tapia. The Bulldogs moved into first place in District 5, improving their record to 6-3.

In Class 4A, Vikings took out the Highland Hornets at Valley High School, 58-46. A strong push late would seal the victory for Valley and now moves them into sole possession of second place in District 6 at 5-3.
