The University of New Mexico’s Men’s Golf finished at the top of the Mountain West Championship leaderboard, shooting 33 under par. It was a strong finish on Sunday, as the Lobos finished shot 14 in the final round in route to their first MW title since 2014 and their 7th overall.
UNM senior and former Hope Christian golf stand out, Sean Carlon finished shooting 13 under par for the tournament. He along with teammate, sophomore Galven Green finished at 13 under par for the tournament.
They had to compete in a playoff to settle who was the individual champion. Green would take that spot after 3 playoff holes with Carlon. This was the fifth playoff to decide the individual champion in Mountain West history.
UNM extends their season as they will now head to an NCAA Regional.
