UNM and baseball coach Ray Birmingham agree on new 3-year contract

Ray Birmingham will return as baseball coach of the New Mexico Lobos. The school and Birmingham agreed to a new three-year deal Monday however, terms of the deal were undisclosed.

Birmingham has the most wins as a baseball coach in New Mexico and has led the Lobos to seven championships during his 11 years at New Mexico.

Birmingham has led the Lobos to 30 plus win seasons nine times. He has the third most wins in program history with 361. His .559 winning percentage ranks second all-time in the program.

Birmingham has coached in the state of New Mexico for 41 years and has been a part of 22 championships. He is entering his 12th season at New Mexico.

That season will start on the road in Surprise, Arizona when the Lobos met defending national champion Oregon State February 15.
