Steve Garcia came into this world fighting. The MMA fighter was stillborn and had to be revived right out of his mother’s womb 26 years ago. With his organs shutting down, Garcia had to fight to stay alive.

“They did the code blue on me,” said Garcia. “It took them a little bit to revive me back to, you know, life.”

Garcia doesn’t remember the entire story his parents told him, but one thing he always keeps in mind.

“Life is precious and you got to take advantage of that,” said Garcia. The opportunity that is currently ahead of him is a fight against an opponent that Garcia grew up watching on television.

Garcia and King of the Cage veteran Abel Collum are the main event for Jackson Wink Fight Night 4 at Isleta Resort Casino Friday. Both fighters are from New Mexico. Garcia has a 7-3 record. Collum is 21-6.

The card has a total of eight fights with three of them being amateur bouts.

The first bell is at 7 p.m.. Doors will open at 5:30. Tickets for the card start at $25.00.
