On the Sports Desk Tuesday, Steve “Mean Machine” Garcia talks about his next opponent in the octagon. Garcia is headling Jackson Wink Fight Night 5 Friday. He will face Andrew “The Beast” Whitney, who holds a 16-6 record and fights out of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
“I know he likes to swing hard,” said Garcia. “He likes to swing hard, and I’m not saying that he’s not technical anywhere else, but from what I see he is looking for that one punch knockout. It’s going to be interesting because I have that as well.”
Wilfredo Santiago is also on the Jackson and Wink card. Santiago recently had a health scare that lasted for months and caused him to change his weight class. He will fight at 170 pounds Friday and maybe from now on. “In my last about four or five fights, I missed weight like four times,” said Santiago. “I never knew what was going on. I knew something was wrong.”
