Van Tate has a full look at the day in sports on Friday’s edition of the Sports Desk. Lobo Basketball has signed another player, former Texas A&M point guard, JJ Caldwell, who will join UNM in the 2019-2020 season. Caldwell will be able to play right away and will have two years of eligibility.

“I chose UNM for the great tradition and the coaches. The coaching staff told me the truth from the start and told me it was not going to be easy,” said JJ Caldwell.

Blake Swihart has also found a new home, as the Cleveland High School grad has been traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks. Swihart was designated for assignment earlier in the week by the Boston Red Sox.

Van also has a look at Lobo baseball and a preview of the Isotopes game on Friday night. Van focuses on Isotopes infielder Yonathan Daza, who had a short stint with the Rockies, but has been placed back on with the Triple-A Isotopes.

“I can hit. That’s my best ability. That’s what I think. I’m playing good defense. I can run. I have good arm so I can play really well,” said Daza.

Van also updates Lobo Football fans on former cornerback D’Angelo Ross, who has high hopes on playing in the NFL. Van then closes out the show with more on UFC fighter Jordan Espinosa.
