The La Cueva Bears kept their undefeated status Thursday night. The 8-0 Bears rolled past their biggest rival, the Eldorado Eagles 40-19. The Eagles got off to a 10-0 start before the Bears came roaring back.
The Eagles held a 19-13 lead in the third quarter, but it would all go away behind solid play from the Bears and the Eagles self-destructing.
The Eagles committed five turnovers on that night. The loss dropped the Eagles to 5-2 on the season and 0-1 in district. In the other Thursday night game, Albuquerque High came from behind to beat the Highland Hornets 16-13.
