The New Mexico State Aggies are now 1-4 on the season, after taking out the winless UTEP Miners on Saturday in El Paso, TX. The Battle of I-10 always brings a competitive game and that’s what the fans got early on in this game.
It was tied at 17 in the 3rd quarter but the Aggies would open things up with a huge 53-yard touchdown pass from Josh Adkins to Royce Caldwell. The Aggies would regain the lead and never let go of it, as their defense stepped up big late in this game holding the Miners to just a field goal after regaining the lead.
NMSU would give up 429 total yards on Saturday, but their defense would also pick up 8 total sacks. They finally get a win to their record and it came on the road. NMSU will now return home to host Liberty on October 6 in what will be their homecoming game.
