Mike Bradbury’s Lobo women’s basketball team made sure they were locked into the finish against Utah State Wednesday night. The Lobos used a 36-13 run to close their opponent out in a 74 to 56.
“From the media timeout, which was at like three and a half to go in the 3rd quarter, the last 13 minutes we really played,” said Bradbury.
In the game prior to the meeting with Utah State, the Lobos gave up a 10 point lead in the fourth quarter on the road at Fresno State to fall in defeat.
“We definitely had to talk about our response from last game,” said Lobos forward Antonia Anderson. “We didn’t have a good response and that’s why it ended up the way it did. So, we just have to respond well and we will be fine.”
Lobos senior center Jaisa Nunn led the Lobos in scoring against Utah State with 15 points. Former Roswell High star Jaedyn De La Cerda scored 14 points in the win.
Anderson continued her hot shooting for the Lobos and finished with 13 points, while point guard Aisia Robertson scored 12 points, dished 9 assists and snagged 4 steals.
With the win, the Lobos improved to 21-4 overall and 11-3 in the Mountain West. The Lobos are in second place in league play. They will host San Jose State next Wednesday.
