Lobo Women’s Basketball is now 8 and 1 on the year, and riding a 7 game winning streak after defeating NMSU on Saturday in Las Cruces 75-50. This marks the 2nd consecutive year that Coach Bradbury and his Lobos have swept the Aggies in the annual 2 game Rio Grande Rivalry.

UNM and NMSU had a very closely contested game until the Lobos put their foot to the gas pedal late in the 3rd quarter. UNM had another solid performance from Aisia Robertson, who finished with 14 points. Jaisa Nunn would record another double-double in this game, as she finished with 15 points and 16 boards.

Roswell High School Grad, and now UNM sophomore, Jaedyn De La Cerda would have a breakout game on Saturday. Jaedyn scored a game-high and career high of 21 points. She also racked up 7 rebounds.

“It’s always good, its not because it’s New Mexico State, its because you beat a quality team, that’s well coached and has good players. So, We knew it would be a tough one and it was”, said UNM Head Coach Mike Bradbury.

UNM will now return home to host the Lobo Invitational. The Lobos will open with Sacramento State on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
