It was a close finish but it ended in a UNM loss Wednesday afternoon in San Deigo, California. The Lobo Women lost to SDSU 61-59 after taking an early lead, but never really found a groove down the stretch.
It was a tie game at 28 at the break, but San Diego State would take advantage of an at times stagnant Lobo offense. Jaisa Nunn had a stellar game dropping high of 27 points and pulling down 11 boards, but that performance would not be enough as the Lobos fell to 8-2 in Conference Play.
This loss snapped a six-game winning streak and dropped the Lobos’ overall record to 18-3. UNM will now return home to host Nevada on Saturday in Dream Style Arena at 1:00 p.m.
