Lobo women open Mountain West play with victory, extend win streak to 10

The Lobo women’s basketball team opened Mountain West Conference play with a 78-57 victory over Air Force Wednesday night. Jayla Everett led the Lobos in scoring with 19 points. She is one of three players who finished in double figures.

Point guard Aisia Robertson scored 15 points in the win while Jaedyn De La Cerda finished with 11. The win was the 10th straight for Mike Bradbury’s club.

The Lobos played stifling defense once again and finished the game with 9 more blocked shots. Everett had three of those blocks so did Nike McClure who also finished with 10 rebounds and 5 points.

The Lobos are now 11-1 overall and 1-0 in the Mountain West.

They are at Nevada Saturday. The game has a 3 p.m. Mountain Time start.
