It was another poor performance defensively for Lobo men’s basketball on Saturday, as Colorado State got a huge win at their place over the Lobos, 91-76.

UNM now falls to 8-8 overall and 2-2 in MW Conference play after this loss.

UNM did have four scorers finish in the double figures: Vance Jackson (18 points, 12 rebounds), Makuach Maluach (12 points), Dane Kuiper (10 points), and Anthony Mathis (16 points).

Colorado State would just be too tough though, as they finished with five scorers in the double figures and overall just totally dismantled the Lobos Zone Defense.

CSU took advantage of the zone and drove a lot to the rim. The Rams outscored the Lobos in the paint on Saturday night 44-22. It wasn’t a good game for this UNM team, but they will now look to bounce back taking on San Diego State next.

The Lobos will play the Aztecs in San Diego on Tuesday at 9 p.m.
