Lobo Football is now 3-3 overall on the season and 1-1 in Mountain West Conference play after losing to Colorado State 20-18. The Rams have now defeated UNM 9 straight times, but this game was no easy win for Colorado State.

CSU led 14-3 at the half, but UNM would rally back with great defensive play and a strong offensive push. UNM would make it 1 14-11 game in the 3rd qtr after a swing pass from Sheriron Jones to Elijah Lilly went 23 yards for a touchdown. Jones would then punch in a 2-point conversion to make it 14-11.

In the 4th quarter, UNM would take an 18-17 lead after a nice catch from Delane Hart-Johnson in the end zone. It would be back and forth after that, but CSU had a chance to take a lead with under 3 minutes to play on an 18-yard field goal. The Rams would miss that opportunity, but UNM would not be able to hang on after that, as CSU would march back down the field and make a 26-yard field goal for the win.

The Lobos will host Fresno State next on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
