The La Cueva Bears have had a tough year off the field this season, as two of their own are currently battling cancer. KRQE Sports told you about sophomore wide receiver, Tyler Jenson, a few weeks ago and his battle for cancer, but one of his teammates mom is also battle breast cancer at the moment.
Well, the team along with others teamed up with UNM Hospital to give members of the La Cueva family flu shots, so that they can visit those battling cancer at the hospital and not worry as much about getting them sick.
“We have a lot of parents that work at UNM. A couple of our moms are nurses down there at the pediatric ER, so they had brought that to our attention that it would be a great opportunity to just get our kids vaccinated since we have a couple of our family members battling cancer”, said La Cueva Football Coach Brandon Back.
