University of New Mexico associate head coach, Chris Harriman, is leaving the men’s basketball program to take a job in California. Harriman is joining the staff of the California Golden Bears, now under new head coach, Mark Fox. UNM Sports Information confirmed the news Tuesday.

Harriman was named associate head coach at New Mexico in 2015 under then-head coach, Craig Neal. He is the only assistant that remained after a coaching change in 2017.

Harriman, a native of Australia, is known as a strong recruiter and has been instrumental in bringing in international players. Prior to coming to New Mexico, Harriman spent three seasons at Nebraska.
