Estancia High Basketball and fans face sanctions from the NMAA

Local Sports

The New Mexico Activities Association warned Estancia High school that their boys basketball team and fans could face sanctions if there were anymore reports of fans being threathening or abusive towards officials. The fans did not listen.

There was an incident during Thursday night’s triple overtime game against the Menaul Pathers which has resulted in the NMAA handing down sanctions.

The Bears have lost a right to host a first round game during the postseason, even if they get a number one seed. Estancia also will not be able to have fans at a first round game.

The first warning came from the NMAA after an incident in February.
