Devon Williams is getting a chance to play professional basketball in Sweden. Williams will play for Umea Sweden. The 6’8 former University of New Mexico forward had his career as a Lobo cut short when he was diagnosed with spinal stenosis during his junior year during the 2015-16 season.
Williams has since completed his education and never quite on his dream of possibly playing basketball again one day. That dream will be finally realized in Sweden.
“Overall they are very excited and they feel that I will be a good fit for the team, and it’s a good opportunity, not ony for them but for me as well,” said Williams. “Being that this will be my first season playing over seas.”
Williams talked about his journey through his injury and his new adventure. KRQE Sports will share all he has to say Friday on KRQE News 13 at 10.
