Archie McDaniel’s first stint as a Lobo football assistant lasted longer than his second. McDaniel is leaving Lobo football once again after only a year with the program.
The outside linebackers coach is headed to Texas State to take a job as co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach. McDaniel’s first time coaching with the Lobos was back in 2012 when he joined Bob Davie in his first year as head coach at New Mexico.
McDaniel stayed for three years before leaving for another job. He returned for the 2018 season before deciding to leave again. He is the third member of Davie’s staff to leave during the offseason.
