Antino Jackson chases his professional basketball dreams

Antino Jackson is a point guard who likes to go fast, and that is what he is giving Virtus Cassino in Italy playing in the A2 league. He was running the show for Paul Weir’s Lobos last season and has found the professional game to be quite the challenge.

“The level of basketball really surprised me,” said Jackson. “It’s really difficult because I only have one other American on my team. It’s two Americans on A2 per team, so it’s a lot of challenges that I face night in and night out. But you know, I’m prepared and I am ready for it.”

Jackson said he averaged about 15 points and 5 assists per game for his team. Jackson said there are about three more months in the season.

He said he will return to play in about two weeks. Jackson said there is a possibility he could be playing for a team in Germany next. One thing that’s for sure—Jackson hopes all roads will lead to the NBA one day. He is in hard pursuit of getting in the league.

“I’m going to come back next year and try to play in the G league, pursue my NBA career like I originally planned,” said Jackson. “I feel like last summer I didn’t get any opportunities. I didn’t have any NBA workouts. You know, I just tried to go overseas and do the best I could. I am going to come back over here and tryout, enter the things I need to enter and make somebody like me.”
