The hot streak continues for Mike Bradbury and his University of New Mexico Lobos women’s basketball team.
The Lobos won an 11th straight game Saturday evening, topping Nevada 66-64. Lobos point guard Aisia Robertson scored 21 points, pulled down 7 rebounds and had 5 steals for the Lobos.
Jayla Everett had 16 points and 2 blocks. Ahlise Hurst scored 10 points for the Lobos. Jade Redmon led Nevada in scoring with 17 points. She also pulled down 5 rebounds. New Mexico controlled the game as the speed of Robertson appeared to a problem for Nevada.
The Lobos opened up their biggest lead, 9 points, in the third quarter, but Nevada would rally to tie the game at 44. The game would be a rollercoaster ride the rest of the way with the Lobos getting a late bucket to go up by at 66-64.
Nevada got a good look at a three-point opportunity with time running out but fell short. With the win, the Lobos improved to 12-1 overall and 2-0 in the Mountain West. Nevada fell to 4-9 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
The Lobos are at UNLV Wednesday.
