ALBUQUERQUE N.M. (KRQE)- Lobo Softball opened up their conference campaign on Friday with a thrilling 5-1 victory over UNLV. The Lobos better their record to now 7-19 overall and 1-0 in Mountain West Conference play.
UNM jumped out to an early lead after a solo homerun from Andrea Howard. “Mo” the La Cueva graduate and UNM freshman, made the score 1-0 in the 2nd inning. UNLV would claw back and hold a 2-1 lead in the 7th inning, but with the bases loaded Chelsea Johnson would walk things off with a grand slam.
Game 2 of 3 between UNLV and UNM will be Saturday at 12pm.
