The Albuquerque Isotopes returned from the road Wednesday night to start a five-game series against the Las Vegas 51s. It was the visitors who enjoyed a 7-0 shutout win. The Isotopes went into the 8th inning only down 1-0.
Hometown favorite Austin House entered the game to pitch and Zach Borenstein made him pay immediately by driving a two-run shot out of the park to make it 3-0 51s. Ty Kelly followed with a three-run home run off of the former Lobo and La Cueva star as the 51s scored six runs in the inning.
The loss dropped the Isotopes to 8-12 on the season while the 51s improved to 6-14. The highlight of the game for the fans was 50 cent hot dog night. A crowd of 5,489 fans consumed 20,073 hot dogs.
Game two is Thursday at 6:35 p.m.
