Albuquerque to host Pro Football Hall of Fame Satellite Academy

The Pro Football Hall of Fame will hold a satellite Academy in Albuquerque June 22-24 at the APS Soccer Complex. Albuquerque bid other competing states to host the event for the region.

The three day academy will feature on field testing, a classroom session, leadership training and character development. Organizer William Blair and former Lobo and NFL receiver Preston Dennard said the academy promotes the game and, this time around, will get Albuquerque talent a chance to be seen.

“Tough things to hear from some of the officials from the academy is when they told me about the rankings, the top 150, the top 250. We didn’t have any kids within the top 350 recognized as top echelon student athletes,” said Dennard. “You and I know we got some pretty good athletes so this is our vehicle to promote them.”

Students preparing for the 8th grade up to the 12th are encouraged to participate. For more information go to or call 505-328-1536.
