SANTA FE, N.M. (KRQE) – It looks like the Zia Rail Runner station might finally open, seven years after it was built. The station sits off Zia Road and Saint Francis Drive in Santa Fe.
It cost more than $1 million to build but has remained off limits because of issues over private land surrounding it and parking.
Now according to the New Mexican, Santa Fe city officials say the Department of Transportation recently approved construction plans for an access road, sidewalks, lighting and other features.
It is unclear how long it could take to make the improvements and when it could open.
