Wounded veteran team raises money for amputee children

A team of wounded veterans is raising money in Albuquerque.

The Wounded Warrior amputee softball team is holding two charity sports tournaments this weekend.

The money raised will pay for summer sports camps for amputee children.

Friday, the team played against able-bodied golfers in a tournament at Arroyo Del Oso.

“They just want to inspire other amputees or people with deficits saying that you know what? It doesn’t define you, it doesn’t have to define you,” said Toni Ramsey, of Ramsey Charitable Trust.

The team will also attend a meet and greet dinner Friday night where they will speak about rehabilitation.
