Woman sues after being wrongfully arrested

RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) – A woman is suing the City of Rio Rancho after she says police got the wrong house when they arrested her.

Last year, an officer thought she wrote a citation for a homeowner living at a house on 4th Avenue southwest for a dirty yard.

Instead, she wrote up the homeowner living at a house with the same number on 4th Avenue northeast.

That homeowner, Loretta Sisneros was later arrested during a traffic stop and booked into jail for not paying the citation.

The case was dismissed.

Sisneros says her rights were violated.
