Woman arrested for attacking APD officer newly identified, released

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A woman arrested and then released on a technicality, has been let go again.

Albuquerque police arrested the woman last month after police video show her attacking an officer with a rock. Police say she refused to give her name.

A judge let her go, saying police failed to list enough identifying information on the criminal complaint to hold her.

The Albuquerque Police Department nabbed her again Thursday, and this time, she gave the name “Kelly Covey.” They arrested her on outstanding warrants.

But when police tried to book her, jail officials said they knew Kelly Covey, and this wasn’t her.

APD says they’ve now identified her as 30-year-old Avannah Dadig, but since she has no warrants — she’s been released.

No word on when a warrant might be issued.
