Damaging winds have wreaked havoc across New Mexico Wednesday. A power outage in Las Vegas left 5,921 customers without power. PNM says their crews are patrolling lines in order to locate and address the issue. Although power has been restored to some customers, about 2,100 customers remain without power.
PNM crews have discovered poles are down on South Frontage Road and officials are asking the public to avoid the area if possible. Crews are working to restore the power.
Also, Roswell is experiencing a power outage. According to Xcel Energy, high winds have caused damage to a number of lines and poles in the area. Xcel Energy is assessing the damages and do not yet know when your power will be restored. However, extra crews have been engaged to assist with restoration efforts.
