Jordan Fire burns estimated 165 acres in Gila National Forest

A fire is burning on National Forest System lands in the Gila National Forest. 

The Jordan Fire began burning Thursday, June 6 on the south side of the Jordan Canyon in the Wilderness Ranger District. The fire is currently being monitored via air reconnaissance.

The fire, which has spread to an estimated 165 acres, is being fueled by ponderosa pine and grass. Fire officials say the blaze is showing minimal fire activity.
