Hikers in Colorado will have to wait until at least next year to enjoy the trails in the 416 Fire burn scar.

According to The Durango Herald, more than 30 miles of trails and at least seven miles of roads were damaged by the 416 Fire which burned more than 50,000 acres.

The burned area includes the Hermosa Creek Trail and the Marquee Trail which runs from the lower Hermosa campground to just west of Purgatory Resort.

At this point, repairs cannot be made to the trails because of the threat of mudslides.
