GRANTS, N.M. (KRQE) – Grants Fire and Rescue says there is the Cerro Bandera Fire is burning off State Highway 53. Cibola County Sheriff Tony Mace, says that the fire broke out at around 11 a.m. near the tourist spot Ice Caves and Bandera Volcano.

According to Grants Fire and Rescue Facebook page, all forward progress of the fire has been stopped.

A type three fire fighting has been called in to aid in putting out hot spots. They were expected 8 p.m.
