Alamo Fire burns near Bandelier


Firefighters are responding to a fire in the Santa Fe National Forest’s Jemez Ranger District.

The Alamo Fire is located on Forest Road 289 near Bandelier National Monument and started Wednesday, May 23.

The blaze was caused by lightning and has spread to 15 acres.

There are currently three engines, a helicopter and a 12 person crew at the site.
