ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – KRQE News 13 set out to find what some moms in the Albuquerque area can expect for their special holiday and what some kids are likely to give them.
Most of the students in the kindergarten class at North Star Elementary all had one answer in common, food. They love moms for their cooking and were going to return the favor to them on Mother’s Day by cooking for their moms.
Some moms around town said it’s gifts like that which they sometimes appreciate quite a bit.
“I think it was always cutest when they made you breakfast in bed when they were little,” says Mary McCormick. “Those things meant the most.”
Then there are always unique modern day ways to honor mom and all she has done.
” I got a tattoo for her actually, last Mother’s Day,” says Kaitlyn from Albuquerque. “She loves dragonfly’s and I just got it for her. I hate them, but it’s just for her.”
