Warrant issued for suspect accused of firing rounds in Isleta parking lot

Authorities in Albuquerque are searching for a suspect who is considered to be extremely dangerous.

Police say 35-year-old Jose Ramon Castillo was seen shooting several rounds from a moving vehicle while in the parking lot of Isleta Resort and Casino. The shooting took place on Saturday, May 4 around 1:55 a.m.

Five victims, including two valet employees, were nearly struck by the gunfire. Isleta Police officers responded to the scene however Castillo allegedly fled the area and was not located.

Police say Castillo has an active and valid warrant and that he faces charges of shooting at/from a motor vehicle and five counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Authorities say there is a reason to believe Castillo may carry out another violent act.

Castillo is believed to be a threat to the public’s safety. He is thought to be staying in southeast Albuquerque.
