There’s a new warning for anyone who has recently bought any type of romaine lettuce: if you don’t know where it was grown, throw it out.

A deadly E-coli outbreak is spreading.

The area around Yuma, Arizona where 90 percent of the nation’s romaine lettuce comes from, and although the exact source hasn’t been identified, the CDC strongly suspects that region is the culprit.

People in 16 states have now gotten sick.

So far there have been no reported cases in New Mexico.
