Vigil held for UNM student Cody Pierce


ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A candlelight vigil was held Monday night at Paradise Hills Park for the 19-year-old.The University of New Mexico student drowned late last month in the Animas River in Durango after jumping in the river to cool off.

His body has yet to be recovered.

His family set up a memorial fund in his name at BBVA Compass Bank. The money will go to the La Plata Sheriff’s Department in Durango to help recover his body.
