A small landspout, which is a type of tornado, was spotted between Eagle Nest and Angel Fire Thursday.
It touched down around 2 p.m. and witnesses say it was on the ground for 7-8 minutes.
It is pretty rare for a tornado to hit this part of New Mexico and stay on the ground for so long.
A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Eagle Nest until 3:30 p.m.
There are also no reports of damage.
