MESA VERDE, Colo. (KRQE) – Vandals have struck Mesa Verde National Park, destroying historical artifacts.
The park says it’s happening often.
In one instance, you can see names scrapped into the sandstone. In other cases, they’ve scratched in letters, hashtags and a Facebook image.
Officials say it’s apparently part of a scavenger hunt. They say the paint can melt off, hurting wildlife.
Officials ask visitors to report any suspicious activity to park rangers.
