Some dark areas around the University of New Mexico’s campus are expected to be a little brighter this summer.

According to the Albuquerque Journal, more than $125,000 in capital outlay funds will help light up areas like the Duck Pond and the corner of Central and Girard among other areas.

Students lobbied lawmakers for the lighting help during the 2018 legislative session because of recent safety concerns.
