University of New Mexico’s President Garnett Stokes says officials should soon reveal how they decide which sports teams to cut.

The Athletic Department’s plan to shore up a deficit includes cutting teams to save almost $2 million a year, according to the Albuquerque Journal.

At a campus town hall meeting, Stokes says they’ve made no specific decisions but are close to explaining how they will “measure and assess” programs as they make what she called tough decisions.
