ALBUQUERQUE, NM (KRQE)  – Wednesday July 19, UNM will host a “Traditional” Health Fair with well-known traditional healers, known as curanderos, from the Mexico City area, as well as local healers from around New Mexico.

UNM’s fair, in conjunction with the Traditional Medicine without Borders: “Curanderismo in the Southwest and Mexico” course, will take place on UNM’s main campus, northwest of Zimmerman Library in Tall Tree Grove, from 1-5 p.m.

Participants can receive treatments from a healer and observe how the curanderos practice their professional techniques and methods in a natural outdoor environment.

The health fair is free and open to the public.
