A UNM team made a huge splash at an international boating competition.
Solar Splash is a collegiate solar-electric boat race that takes place over five days in Springfield, Ohio.
Earlier this month, UNM’s team placed fourth overall.
The team also took home 10 awards including “Most Improved Team” and “Outstanding Workmanship”.
It was UNM’s third year in the contest.
This year’s fourth-place finish tied for the highest ever along with 2016.
The UNM Solar Splash program involves students from two departments: Electrical and Computer Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The advisors of the program are Professors Jane Lehr and Peter Vorobieff.
