UNM students help make campus safer

News

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – University of New Mexico students were tasked with figuring out how they can make campus safer. Groups of students were given an area of campus to inspect during a “Campus Safety Walk.”

They wrote down what parts of UNM lack good lighting, have poor signage or even overgrown shrubs.

The university promises to look into and fix the issues documented.

In recent years, several sexual assaults, armed robberies and car break-ins have been reported on campus.
