ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – People gathered at the University of New Mexico Thursday night in honor of those killed in the earthquake in Nepal.
“It’s a really bad situation over there, ya know, so as a human being we wanted to help,” said student Ngima Sherpa.
Dozens held a candlelight vigil in front of the student union building.
The death toll in Saturday’s 7.8 magnitude quake stands at 5,800 but that could triple. Crews are still pulling people from the rubble. Thursday, a woman and a 15-year-old boy were found alive.
