The University of New Mexico is seeing fewer car thefts on its campus.
There were 121 incidents of auto theft and attempted auto theft reported to the department in 2018.
That is a 41-percent decrease from 2017.
The figures do not include thefts reported to UNM Security or the Albuquerque Police Department.
The university credits the expanded use of surveillance cameras and APD increasing its presence of bait cars.
